Chris is a former Army paratrooper who first became involved with humanitarian missions in East Africa in the wake of famine.

In 2011 Chris deployed to Japan in the wake of the Tōhoku Event. A major offshore quake, an unprecedented Tsunami followed by a nuclear meltdown, all in one disaster. On the flight home he realized that in order to truly reach people in time, he needed to reach them before he responded. Long before.

Chris is proud to have gone on to serve with the then-fledgling Team Rubicon. On operations from Moore Oklahoma to Op-Seabird in the wake of the Yolanda Hurricane. Chris served on missions whilst helping develop basic responder training and disaster sawyer (chainsaw) curriculums.

The focus of his self-authored class is the human needs of those preparing for terrible events. The skills he teaches are pulled from the situations he has seen other populations face.

He is determined to take the “crazy” out of survival and replace it with Sane and Usable.

Chris is a structural firefighter I & II, a hazardous materials technician and an international disaster responder.

He tells us he is “honored” to have been approached by Team Sure Shot and promises a class that delivers a solid BOOM, even if firearms are absent.
